Blog comments

There seems to be no rhyme and reason to which of my posts gets the most comments. Asking questions sometimes works to boost numbers but high single figures seems a good day. I accept that many people read but have no time and inclination to comment which is fine. I just need enought comments to know that there is someone out there reading. And I myself don't always have time/ inclination to comment on every post I read either. So I am chilled about it.

Or I was. Erica had a link I followed to this.
At the time I am posting it had 262 comments

262!!!!!

I am as green with jealousy as Kermit. (OK I know Kermit was just naturally green and not necessarily jealous but you know what I mean.)

262!!!
Of course, if you go there you will see why.

I didn't make it 263 though because all I can say is 'wow, amazing' which has already been said. Plus I hate her... she got 262.......
Ahem, sorry... chill.....

Just think, who'd have time to read 262 comments every day. You'd have no time to read up on other people's blogs! :)

Well, as a secondary comment, to add numbers to YOUR comments not hers because she doesn't need any more comments to swell her head (262!) - it is certainly a project of which my comment would be (if I knew said blogger allowed/coped with swearing)

"Holy Shit that is SOME selvedge project!"

I confess myself mighty impressed, and also, pea-green with envy on the comment love.

Sigh.

I am happy to read 10-18 on my comments, and honestly, some posts are not worthy of much, while others are just darned incredible! LOL .. and I try to answer most of them, so 262 would be tooooo much.

And, btw, that WAS an interesting dress technique! Wish my posts were THAT interesting.

And some days, when I read another post, the simplest of words, might mean the most to me, at that time -- you never know.

If it makes you feel any better, that post was linked from http://whipup.net/, so reached a HUGE audience!
It was lovely meeting you at the weekend, and I can't believe you have ALREADY quilted your quilt. My is still in a pile with all the other UFOs and I haven't touched it since!
Cheers,
Tina

I too dispair when my comment box reads "0" when I know full well people have been by as my counter tells me so. But then again I haven't posted much creative for a while. Bit miffed my Wedding Ring top made with Dawn Cameron Dick did't get a comment as I was really pleased with the results. Oh um better get posting some more arty stuff.
As for the selvedge dress - that was really something!
best wishes

The second post was removed as I seemed to have pressed return twice. I know you would like lots of comments, but not of the same thing, I'm sure!
Best wishes

I like comments too, but over 200is too many. A few are appreciated, that many could become a burden. I have found that asking a question does bring some people out that don't normally comment. Then they might comment again once they have done it.

HI Guys, Just so you know - that amount of comments is about a zillion times more than I normalyy get - really !! That is also over a whole week. Other blogs also posted pictures of the dress and then linked so that is why lots of people visited.
I have read them all and answered the ones that have email enabled. I am totally blown away by the response ....No reason to hate me , it was just a blip on the radar and it will all be back to normal soon.
Cheers

I figure comments are like saying something to someone socially at a quilt guild meeting -- I'd much rather hang out in a smaller group, with people I'm getting to actually know a little as friends rather than simply be a social butterfly and have a couple of hundred acquanitances to socialize with... I have an upper limit of friends as opposed to aquaintences, and would rather hang out with friends... Just me thought about comments....

The dress, it was lovley, but I also think waaaaaaaaaay to involved

good grief, can you imagine going through your stash and carefully trimming off the selvedge on all the fabrics, and then having to fold all the fabric again? not my idea of fun! as to comments, sometimes if there are already a bunch of comments I don't leave one myself; moistly it's just whether I'm in the mood!

As I've only been blogging for 3 months, I'm pleased with my 9-10,rarely, but at least I know someone is interested.. That's enough for me for now. I enjoy your blog very much.

Hey you are up to 13 comments on this post! I too get jealous when I see some people get so many comments, but then they do write more interesting posts, and they do tend to have better pictures, and seem to make three quilts a minute.
I too feel sad when one of my masterpiece blog posts get no response, and sometimes when I throw something together stupidly it winds up with all sorts of comments.

I'm writing this because however much you like multiple comments, somehow 13 is not good. So here's number 14.
(I'm not superstitious, really I'm not)

It's now 312! What I want to know is where did she get so many selvedges that were that long and in a useable width. Is there a connection to a fabric company?
