Breakthrough

Thnak you Brenda and Becky for explaining that when Google Readers says to drag an icon to 'Bookmarks' they do not in fact mean I should drag it to the bit on my toolbar that says 'Bookmarks' but to the bit that says ' Favourites'. I am afraid the Google geeks do not get my award for clear instructions. But I do now have Google reader working and showing me the full blogs not just an extract. The next button is

Plus - and laugh at my ignorance if you like - I discovered Igoogle tonight. Who knew?! I used to have the plain vanilla Google search page and my home page. Now I have Google Reader, Art Quilt of the Day, Quilts Channel, Bookmarks (the non-favourites version!), CNN News, BBC Radio, a currency conversion calculator , sticky notes -pictures of penguins and all kinds.

At present I am writing this on Dennis' laptop because I am downloading Internet Explorer 7 on mine - I didn't even know I was on an old version until tonight.

And what actually started all this? Well, I have been reading up about designing web pages because I am thinking of embarking on my own web site. Something tells me this will not be a straightforward process, but no one can say I do not persevere and get results in the end

glad you were able to get the button sorted out1 I absolutely love igoogle -- its my homepage and gives me links for so many bits I use :-)

Hope the subscribe and next buttons make your blog reading work a little better...

Excellent progress! However, I would forget about IE7 and install Firefox as your browser instead...

All this talk is a little mind boggling. I've just started using an aggregator, plus I have my favs and also surf blogrings. Slow and steady for me I'm afraid.

okay, I'm trying google reader, but I still can't figure out where the "next" button goes... do you have to have google as your home page? I don't have anything on the toolbar called "favorites". and what does the "next" button do?
and -- it doesn't show the comments on my system. How did you set that up?
